Week 1 Prayer: NAIDOC Week
From the Principal
Welcome everyone to the new school term, I hope that the return to school finds everyone in a positive mindset ready to tackle the learnings that T3 will provide.
Welcome to our Newest Students: As we commence term 3 we welcome Mia (FHD) and Joey (2RH) Rhodes and Lenny (2TB) and Alexis (3/4DH) Eversteyn and their families into our school community, we hope they feel a sense of warmth as they commence their time with us.
We also welcome Sandra Rhodes: (mother of Mia & Joey) to the Arts Teacher role, we hope she has an amazing time in our community and in our staff; Sandra will commence teaching this week.
Lunch Orders: Are still not available to order at the present time, we hope to provide an update on this in next weeks newsletter.
Semester 2 Student Free days: The following dates have been approved by DOBCEL as student free.
- Monday August 19th- First Aid & Child safety training
- Monday October 7th & Tuesday October 8th; Indigenous Education training

Sacrament of Eucharist
The Star of the Sea Parish is inviting all children in Grade 4 or above who wish to receive the Sacrament of Eucharist to register their interest by clicking the link below.
The information meeting for parents/guaridans is being held tomorrow, Tuesday July 16th at 6.00pm.
The preparation of this Sacrament will have a new format this year. Candidates from all of the Network Catholic schools will participate in a Formation Day to be held at St. Pius X - in the Hall and the function room. This is to occur on Friday July 19th. Further information and permission forms will follow and more information will be explained at the parent meeting.
The Sacrament of First Eucharist will be celebrated on Sunday August 11th, at the 9.00am Mass at St Pius X Church.
Dates for children at St. John's:
Tuesday July 16th at 6.00pm- Formation meeting for parents/guardians
Friday July 19th- Formation day for children
Sunday August 4th- Mass of commitment 9.00am at St. Pius X Church
Sunday August 11th- Sacrament of Eucharist 9.00am at St. Pius X Church
Working With Children Check
We encourage parents and guardians to volunteer their time around the school and at events invited by the school, however you will need a current Working with Children Check (WWCC), this is a Victorian Government legislation. Working With Children Check's are free and you can apply by clicking the link below.
The next time you are volunteering at school, please allow enough time to sign in on the Ipad and upload a copy of your WWCC card.
Grandparent's & Special Friends Day
Grandparent's and Special Friends Day is being held next week, it is always a highly anticipated day on the calendar that the students look forward to. Activities on the day will be completed in House Groups, can you please ensure your child's special visitor is aware of what House colour your child is in. Visitors are to BYO their lunch to enjoy with students, we will provide some slices and a cuppa.

Logan is the proud big brother of sweet little Airlie who was born during the school holidays. A very big congratulations to you all, we can't wait to meet Airlie!
Ryder and his family recently travelled to the NT and Ayres Rock. What a special and memorable experience for you all!
Archie competed at the Warrnambool Dance Eisteddfod last week and placed second in a duo for hip hop. AMAZING Archie, well done! We can't wait to hear what you do next.
Scienceworks is a popular science and technology museum that features modern interactive exhibitions. Zivah had a brilliant time here during the holidays with her family!
Austin is a huge bombers fan and had amazing seats at their recent match. We hope you had a great time and I'm sure they were able to hear you cheering them on!

For our next meeting we will be heading to the Cally for dinner on Wednesday 31st July at 6:30pm. All welcome please RSVP closer to the date.
Dennington's Day Out
Applications are now open for our mini entrepreneur stalls at this year's Dennington’s Day Out. If your child is interested and would like to have a stall please register with the below link.
The next meeting is Wednesday 24th July at 7:15pm.

Wednesday Treats
Wednesday Treats will return next Wednesday 24th July. Order forms will be sent home later this week. Please make sure all EFT payments and order forms are handed in by 3.00pm each Monday.
We will have the roster completed and sent out this week. If you have volunteered to help this term please keep a lookout for it. Please ensure you have your Working with Children check.

Cake Raffle
Each week on a Monday, families are rostered on to bring in a cake which will then be raffled and drawn out at assembly. All funds raised throughout the year will be donated to the Good Friday Appeal the following year.
All students will have the opportunity to buy a raffle ticket for 20c each Monday with a limit of five tickets per student. The Johnnies will make a P.A announcement at first lunch, calling all students who wish to purchase a ticket, to the Library.

Please drop your store purchased cake into the office with your child's name written on top.
